Hudson Garden Club Field of Interest Fund

In 2017 the HGC established a Fund with the Hudson Community Foundation. This fund was established for two purposes – to invest our unrestricted funds for growth and to enable the club to accept tax-deductible contributions. Anyone, member or not, can contribute to the Fund.

The Hudson Community Foundation manages our investment, meets IRS requirements for tax-deductible contributions, and from the fees paid by investors, provides grants within our community. Learn more at www.myHCF.org.

The HGC is legally recognized as a Nonprofit 501(c)4 organization, but not a 501(c)3 charity. Therefore donations made DIRECTLY to the club cannot be claimed as a charitable donation on the donor’s tax return, even though most of our funds are paid out charitably.

Donations made to the Hudson Garden Club Fund held by the Hudson Community Foundation (a 501(c)3 charity) CAN be claimed as a charitable donation on the donor’s tax return. Such donations include part of the Garden Gathering ticket price and donations made to the Garden Gathering in lieu of attendance. Donations support the beautification of Hudson’s public properties and scholarships and grants that align with our club’s mission, Gifts may be given in honor or in memory of a loved one, a Garden Club member, or any garden lover.
